Oklahoma Genetics Advisory Council
In 1999, the Oklahoma Genetics Advisory Council (OGAC) was formed to advise the Commissioner of Health on genetic issues. It has been beneficial in establishing a collaborative genetics program.
This diverse group of 24 members includes clinical genetic and laboratory providers, primary care providers, related specialists, Indian health representatives, clergy, consumers, insurance and community representatives and 21 ex-officio members from Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) programs and the Department of Human Services (DHS).
The council meets three times a year with its eight committees meeting more frequently as needed. All meetings are open to the public.
