Ferguson Selected as Regional Administrative Director

ALVA, Okla. – Alva resident Ashley Ferguson, MHR, CADC, has been selected as the new Regional Administrative Director for OSDH District 1, which includes Beaver, Cimarron, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Harper, Texas, Roger Mills, Woods and Woodward Counties in northwestern Oklahoma.

Ferguson replaces Terri Salisbury in this role. Salisbury retires March 31 after 25 years of service with the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) as a public health nurse and as the Regional Administrative Director in District 1 for the past 16 years.

Ferguson has been working as the District 1 community engagement lead for the past two years. Prior to joining OSDH, she worked in the behavioral health field for 12 years as a social worker and executive leader in government and private health care settings.

Ferguson earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Northwestern Oklahoma State University and a master’s in human relations from The University of Oklahoma. She and her husband, Troy, have two kids: Channing, 14, and Evan, 15.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) protects and improves public health through its system of local health services and strategies focused on preventing disease. OSDH provides technical support and guidance to 68 county health departments in Oklahoma, as well as guidance and consultation to the two independent city-county health departments in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
