FIRST LADY SARAH STITT BRINGS THE HOPE RISING TOUR TO DUNCAN, JANUARY 16

First Lady Sarah Stitt is bringing the Hope Rising Tour in partnership with the Potts Family Foundation to Duncan on Thursday, January 16. The First Lady sees this tour as an opportunity to raise awareness on the issue of adverse childhood experiences (ACES) throughout Oklahoma.

The second stop on the tour will take place at Simmons Center in Duncan. There will be two showings at 11AM and 5:30PM of the film, “Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope.” This film presents the science of Adverse Childhood Experiences, along with the science proving that ACES can be reversed.

Following the film there will be a one-hour panel with child welfare experts moderated by the First Lady. The panel will include: Kim Holland, Sheriff Wayne McKinney, Joe Dorman, Tim Whaley, Melanie Smith, Dr. Dan Criswell, and Judy Dittner.

“This film explains the science behind the childhood experiences of many Oklahomans, myself included” said First Lady Sarah Stitt. “It is so important that people in all walks of life can understand this, because it changes the way you think about things and the way that you interact with others. The good news is that these ACES can be easily prevented and reversed.”
