Liability

The Drivers Road Test Signature page is no longer required to be submitted to SRM annually. Although, a current Driver’s Road Test Record or equivalent for a driver involved in an incident using a vehicle will be requested. A Team Members list must be submitted annually during the survey or when there is a change to the team members list.

The fire department the driver belongs to would be responsible for the damage. The Auto Liability coverage follows the firefighter and not the vehicle.

Yes, coverage is available provided this is an official function of the fire department and you are working within the scope of fire department duties.

Family members are not covered to ride along on emergency calls under any of the SRM coverages. Coverage is only provided to fire department employees operating personal vehicles while completing officially assigned fire department duties.

Yes, provided this is an official function of the fire department and working within the scope of duties coverage is available up to the limits set in the Governmental Tort Claims Act.

Yes, provided this is an official function of the fire department and working within the scope of duties coverage is available up to the limits set in the Governmental Tort Claims Act. (Damage to your personal vehicle is not covered, only the other party)

Auto Liability covers the negligent acts of a fire department member, within the scope of duties, while operating a vehicle. General Liability covers the negligent acts of a fire department member, within the scope of duties, other than operating a vehicle.

Property/APD

Yes, if the fire department has elected General Liability coverage, and it is determined there was negligence while the firefighter was working within the scope of duties, coverage is available up to the limits listed in the Governmental Tort Claims Act.

Fire vehicles should be valued at replacement cost if they are less than 10 years old or valued at Actual Cash Value (ACV) if they are 10 years or older.
