Victory Church–Tulsa Brings Hope to Oklahoma Inmates

Friday, September 19, 2025

Victory Church–Tulsa is making a significant impact by bringing hope into state correctional facilities across Oklahoma.

This effort has been made possible through the support of the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (OFBCI), in partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections (DOC). Together, these organizations have provided the training, coordination, and access needed to make this outreach possible.

In May, Victory Church hosted the single largest DOC volunteer training event to date, equipping 110 volunteers and staff at their Tulsa campus. Since then, two additional trainings have been held, bringing the total to more than 200 trained and ready volunteers. DOC Agency Chaplain and Volunteer Services Administrator Leo Brown led these sessions, sharing insights and expertise drawn from nearly three decades of experience with the department.

Following the trainings, Victory Church has organized large outdoor gatherings inside facilities—complete with food, music, and messages of encouragement. Thousands of inmates have voluntarily attended these events. To date, two facilities have been visited, with three more already scheduled in the coming months.

Faith continues to play a central role in the restorative journey for many within the correctional system. Ministries like Victory Church – Tulsa provide encouragement and support to those seeking a new path forward.

OFBCI is proud to partner with organizations that walk alongside individuals in moments of vulnerability and growth. These events highlight the profound impact faith-based organizations can have in the correctional system.
