Oklahoma Assemblies of God Strengthens Church Partnerships to Support Child Welfare

Wednesday, April 15, 2026

OFBCI is grateful for the Oklahoma Assemblies of God and their intentional leadership in bringing pastors together to strengthen connections between local churches and Oklahoma Human Services Child Welfare.

Through this initiative, churches across their statewide network are being encouraged to take meaningful action—supporting child welfare efforts, strengthening foster families, and meeting tangible needs within their communities.

Recently, pastors, local Child Welfare leaders, and community partners, including 111 Project, gathered in McClain and Garvin counties. These meetings created space for open dialogue and collaboration, allowing participants to hear directly from local leaders about the specific needs and available resources in their communities.

The conversations were both honest and productive, leading to new ideas for partnership and a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by frontline Child Welfare staff. By building relationships at the local level, these efforts are helping bridge gaps and create more coordinated support systems for children and families.

This work reflects the power of partnership—bringing together churches, state agencies, and community organizations, each contributing unique strengths to better serve Oklahomans.

With a shared goal of strengthening local connections, this growing collaboration continues to lay the foundation for stronger communities and brighter futures for children and families across the state.
