Strengthening Communities Through Partnership: Meeting with Oklahoma Assemblies of God Leaders

The Oklahoma Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives recently had the opportunity to meet with leaders from the Oklahoma Assemblies of God (OKAG) to discuss future opportunities for serving Oklahoma communities and supporting vulnerable individuals and families across the state.

The conversation centered on a shared commitment to caring for "the least, the last, and the lost" and exploring ways faith communities can continue partnering with agencies and local organizations to create meaningful and lasting impact.

Among those participating was Vada Dwaileebe, OKAG Women's Director, whose passion for equipping women to serve their families, churches, and communities was evident throughout the discussion. OKAG Women exists to help women grow spiritually, lead confidently, and live out their faith through service and community engagement.

The Oklahoma Assemblies of God represents a statewide network of churches that consistently demonstrates a commitment to serving others. Through foster care support, disaster response, food distribution, prison outreach, community service projects, and assistance for vulnerable families, OKAG churches are making a difference in communities across Oklahoma every day.

As OFBCI continues working to connect faith communities with opportunities to support agency priorities and local needs, partnerships like those with Oklahoma Assemblies of God play an important role in expanding the reach and impact of community-based solutions. Their willingness to ask, "How can we help?" and then mobilize churches to respond has resulted in tangible support for children, families, individuals with disabilities, those impacted by disasters, and many others facing challenges.

We are especially grateful for Oklahoma Assemblies of God's continued partnership and collaboration with our office. Their leadership and commitment to serving Oklahomans have helped strengthen connections between faith communities and state agencies while creating new opportunities to address unmet needs throughout the state.

We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to Jamel Crawford, Oklahoma Assemblies of God Compassion Ministries Director, for his ongoing partnership and leadership. Through his efforts to connect churches, ministries, and community partners, numerous opportunities have emerged to meet practical needs and support vulnerable populations across Oklahoma.

The meeting served as a reminder that some of the most impactful ideas begin with leaders who are willing to listen, collaborate, and work together toward a shared vision. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Oklahoma Assemblies of God as we seek to strengthen families, support communities, and bring hope to those who need it most.
