In collaboration with the Governor’s Office, Oklahoma State Department of Health, Oklahoma Human Services, and Oklahoma State Department of Education, the Oklahoma Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (OFBCI) is coordinating alongside community and faith partners statewide to support Oklahomans affected by the federal government shutdown and the upcoming pause in SNAP benefits.
We are grateful to play a part in what makes our state so special—the Oklahoma Standard: neighbors helping neighbors in times of need.
With the ongoing federal government shutdown and the upcoming SNAP benefit interruption beginning November 1, many Oklahoma families are already feeling the strain. Across the state, faith communities, nonprofits, and local partners are stepping up to meet increased needs with compassion and care.
If you have the ability to give, please consider supporting your local church food pantry or community organization that’s providing assistance during this challenging time. Every contribution—big or small—makes a difference.
Individuals seeking food resources or organizations looking for ways to help can visit Be A Neighbor OK to connect with local programs or register your organization and how you are serving the local community.
Together, we can continue to live out the Oklahoma Standard—showing the strength, generosity, and unity that define our great state.
