Supporting Vulnerable Children and Families: Learning from Lifeline Children's Services
Recently, Director Brian Bobek and Mrs. Bobek had the privilege of joining the Green family at Hobby Lobby headquarters in Oklahoma City for an evening dedicated to learning more about the work and mission of Lifeline Children's Services.
Founded in 1981, Lifeline Children's Services is a faith-based organization committed to serving vulnerable children and families through the love of Christ. While many people recognize Lifeline for its adoption services, the organization's impact extends far beyond adoption. Lifeline provides support to foster families, women facing unplanned pregnancies, families in crisis, and communities seeking to better care for vulnerable children.
Lifeline's vision is to see vulnerable children and their communities transformed by the Gospel. Through a variety of programs and services, the organization equips churches and individuals to actively engage in caring for children and families both locally and around the world. Their work emphasizes that every child deserves a safe, loving, and supportive environment where they can thrive.
Across Oklahoma, communities continue to face challenges related to foster care, family stability, and support for children experiencing difficult circumstances. Organizations like Lifeline help strengthen the response by providing resources, training, and opportunities for churches and families to become part of the solution. Their approach recognizes that caring for vulnerable children is not solely the responsibility of one organization or system, but a shared calling that requires collaboration among faith communities, nonprofits, and public agencies.
The Oklahoma Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is grateful for opportunities to learn from organizations that are making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. Hearing about Lifeline's work served as a powerful reminder of the important role faith-based organizations play in strengthening families, supporting those in crisis, and creating pathways to hope and stability.
As Oklahoma continues to address the needs of vulnerable children and families, partnerships with organizations like Lifeline Children's Services provide valuable examples of how faith, compassion, and community engagement can work together to create lasting change.
