Faith and Community Partnerships Supporting Oklahoma Disaster Response

Wednesday, May 20, 2026

The Oklahoma Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives continues strengthening partnerships that help support communities during times of crisis. Director Bobek of OFBCI and Director Vest of the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM)  are working together to redefine disaster relief and recovery efforts across Oklahoma by building stronger collaboration between state agencies, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations.

Through these partnerships, communities across Oklahoma are becoming better equipped to respond to disasters and provide hope and practical support to families in need.

On Tuesday, May 12, Director Bobek had the opportunity to speak alongside Director Vest at the leadership meeting for CityServe Oklahoma. The organization has become a valuable partner in connecting resources, supporting families in crisis, and serving communities throughout the state.

Based in Tulsa, CityServe Oklahoma has helped thousands of Oklahomans through outreach efforts, community partnerships, and resource distribution initiatives that bring meaningful impact to families facing difficult circumstances.

The Oklahoma Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is grateful for organizations like CityServe Oklahoma that continue leading with compassion, service, and hope.
