Immunization Service Program Highlights | November 2025 – January 2026

Across Oklahoma, the Immunization Service Program continues to strengthen health access by providing vaccines, education, and trusted resources directly to communities. Through partnerships with churches, nonprofits, schools, and health care providers, their team engages with families, caregivers, students, and vulnerable residents where they already gather, removing barriers and enhancing protection against preventable diseases.

In just three months, these outreach efforts reached over 500 Oklahomans and administered more than 100 vaccines statewide.

These efforts highlight the strength of collaboration among public health professionals, health care providers, and Faith-Based and community partners. By delivering services directly into trusted community spaces, the Immunization Service Program continues to reduce transportation and cost barriers, increase vaccine confidence and education, support caregivers, students, and vulnerable residents, and bolster statewide prevention efforts.

A special thanks to the Oklahoma City Caregivers Conference, Ottawa County Faith & Community Outreach, Jesus House Community Clinic, UCO Students & Staff Resource Days, and the MLK Health & Wellness Fair.

We welcome opportunities to collaborate and provide immunization services and education directly to your community.

Health District 8’s Mobile Wellness Unit visits the Ringling Methodist Church each month to provide no-cost health services to local residents (left picture). No appointment is needed, and the unit offers various services like vaccinations, health screenings, lab work, and resource connections.

Health department staff also help church members pack food boxes for distribution during the Mobile Wellness visits (right picture). Additionally, Health District 8 has partnered with groups such as the Infant Crisis Center’s Baby Mobile, Pathways Family Resource Center, Duncan Regional Health Foundation’s Cancer Care Connection, and Duncan Regional Health clinics to provide extra services at the Ringling Methodist Church for community members.
