Cleveland County Detention Center Garden

Friday, October 10, 2025

The Cleveland County Detention Center has opened its first-ever vegetable garden, providing inmates with hands-on opportunities to learn valuable life skills that will serve them well beyond their time in the facility.

This inspiring project stands as a shining example of public-private partnership, made possible through the vision and generosity of Susan Bergen, founder of Bergen Enterprises, in collaboration with Governor Kevin Stitt and Brian Bobek, Director of the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (OFBCI). Also pictured is Cleveland County Commissioner Jacob McHughes, whose support helped bring this initiative to life.

Together, we’re planting seeds of hope, growth, and second chances—nurturing both the soil and the spirit of transformation within our communities.
