Celebrating 20 Years of Transformative Service with the Butterfield Foundation
It was an honor to attend the Butterfield Foundation’s 20-Year Celebration Luncheon on behalf of Governor Stitt. Since its establishment in 2005, the Foundation has distributed more than $36 million in grants and program funds to nonprofit organizations in Oklahoma and beyond.
Founded from the proceeds of the sale of the historic Deaconess Hospital and named in honor of Rev. Ralph and Gladys Butterfield, the Foundation carries on a legacy of compassionate care and service rooted in the tenets of the Free Methodist Church USA.
The mission of the Butterfield Foundation is “to manifest the redeeming love of Christ by focusing on the physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being of people.” Their vision of “spirit-led stewardship that transforms lives” guides their grantmaking and community support.
Over the past two decades, the Foundation’s investments have strengthened whole-person healthcare, expanded spiritual care initiatives, supported charitable clinics, and uplifted ministries and programs dedicated to improving quality of life for individuals and families. With at least half of its funding directed to Oklahoma, its impact is deeply felt throughout the state.
We are grateful for the meaningful role the Butterfield Foundation plays in advancing well-being across Oklahoma and for the organizations they support that make a difference every day.
