The Developmental Disabilities Council of Oklahoma (DDCO) is excited to announce the return of the Momentum Refresh Mobile Restroom and Universal Changing Station for its third consecutive year at the Oklahoma State Fair.
The Momentum Refresh Mobile Restroom can be found in front of the Modern Living Building at The Circle. Stop by and take a tour and learn more about this private, fully accessible space that is equipped with specialized amenities, a large changing table with ceiling hoist, room for caregivers, and a dedicated calming/lactation room.
“Momentum Refresh is designed so no one has to cut their day short or worry about how they’ll handle a personal care break at the fair,” said Dan Lusk, Executive Director of Momentum Refresh. “We’re excited to return to the Oklahoma State Fair to ensure everyone has the opportunity to participate and enjoy the spirit of community!”
The Oklahoma State Fair will also feature dedicated calming stations during the length of the fair for those who just need a break from the excitement of everything the fair has to offer. If the crowds, noises, smells are too much for you or your loved one, the fair offers Sensory Friendly time on Sunday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
While you’re there on Sept. 20, be sure to drop by the second annual Accessibility Expo from 12-5 p.m. at the Modern Living Building. The Accessibility Expo is a celebration of inclusion, innovation, and community with organizations, artists, vendors, and advocates who are working to support and empower disabled Oklahomans and their families.
These growing partnerships and expanded accommodations reflect an intentional dedication to creating an open, welcoming environment where everyone can fully participate in and enjoy the fair.
