Digital Literacy
Through our digital literacy programs and partnerships, libraries are helping Oklahomans learn new digital skills and access new technology.
Technology Grants
ODL’s Technology Grants help libraries expand access to computers, devices, Wi-Fi, and digital learning opportunities. These grants make it easier for community members to apply for jobs, take online classes, and access important online services. In addition to standard technology upgrades, as part of our technology grants, libraries can also apply for innovative projects. This allows libraries to pilot new programs, explore emerging technology, or test out new ways to reach underserved audiences.
Digital Literacy projects are funded through technology grants to public libraries from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Digital Literacy
ODL and the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) are working together to support digital literacy and digital skills building across Oklahoma. Through this partnership, libraries are offering Digital Navigator support and Device Lending Programs, which provides wraparound support and helps Oklahomans learn how to use technology and find reliable information.
Digital Navigators are available at libraries within the Southeast Oklahoma Library System, Western Plains Library System, and Southern Oklahoma Library System. These trained staff members provide one-on-one assistance to community members who need help with devices, online forms, email, accessing digital resources, and more.
Additionally, Device Lending Programs are available through the Public Library of Enid and Garfield County and Ponca City Public Library, allowing patrons to borrow ChromeBooks and hotspots to access technology beyond the library. If you live in or near one of these service areas, you can visit these participating libraries to access free technology help and device lending services.
