Rick Mutchler has had a long and distinguished career as a federal civil servant and a member of the United States Air Force and Oklahoma Air National Guard.
In 2025, he retired from the Federal Aviation Administration in where he was the the Business Operations Team Manager charged with an annual business plan in excess of $150 million to provide services support to ensure the national airspace remained operational and additionally supported interagency agreements with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Forest Service, Department of Defense and U.S. Coast Guard sponsors to further protect national security.
In July 2024, Brig. Gen. Rick L. Mutchler retired after 40 years of service as the Chief of Staff of the Oklahoma Air National Guard, Joint Force Headquarters, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was the principle advisor to The Adjutant General for all Oklahoma Air National Guard matters. Additionally, General Mutchler was responsible for the combat readiness and operational effectiveness for all Oklahoma Air National Guard units and more than 2,300 airmen in two wings positioned to support community, state, and federal missions. Prior to promotion to Brig General, he was the Vice Wing Commander of the 137th Special Operations Wing where he also took command at the squadron and group levels. During his military career, General Mutchler held the ranks of Airman Basic thru Senior Master Sergeant, then received his commission after his first 16 years where he held the ranks of 2nd Lieutenant thru Brigadier General.
Now fully retired, he enjoys time with his spouse, Andrea Mutchler, daughter Mikala and her husband Justin Nard and grandson Cooper Nard.
