Safety Manager
Sarah Taft is an experienced safety management professional with a strong background in occupational health, risk reduction, and compliance across state agencies, healthcare, and regulatory environments. She currently serves as Safety Manager at the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, where she leads workplace safety initiatives, develops training programs, and ensures regulatory compliance to protect staff and residents across multiple facilities.
Before joining ODVA, Sarah worked as a Safety Consultant III with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority, providing oversight, compliance assessments, and safety guidance in a fast-growing regulated industry. She also served as a Safety Coordinator with EMSA (Emergency Medical Services Authority) and Vanguard Resources, where she conducted inspections, risk assessments, and environmental rounds across hospital campuses and emergency operations. Earlier in her career, as a Loss Prevention Specialist with the State of Oklahoma, Sarah designed and delivered safety training on ergonomics, defensive driving, hazard communication, bloodborne pathogens, and emergency preparedness for statewide agencies.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Safety from the University of Central Oklahoma and maintains multiple professional certifications, including OSHA 30, HAZWOPER 40, and American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor.
Beyond her professional role, Sarah is actively involved in her church’s ministries and enjoys spending quality time with her family.
