Director of Clinical Operations

Angela Battles, MSN, RN, CNML is a transformational healthcare leader with nearly three decades of experience in nursing, operations, and clinical leadership. She leads with purpose, integrity, and compassion—always grounding her work in the mission of service and the belief that exceptional care begins with people. 

Angela currently serves as the Director of Clinical Operations for the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, where she oversees clinical quality, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence across Oklahoma’s seven State Veterans Homes. Her work centers on elevating resident-focused care, strengthening systemwide consistency, and supporting the teams who deliver care every day. 

Angela’s career spans community health, tribal health systems, acute and critical care settings, and complex operational leadership roles. Across each chapter, she has been recognized for building strong infrastructure, improving quality outcomes, and cultivating highly engaged, high-performing teams. Her educational path reflects a lifelong commitment to professional growth.

Angela earned her undergraduate nursing degrees from Eastern Oklahoma State College (1997) and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma Wesleyan University (2001). In 2024, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, further strengthening her foundation in systems leadership, operations, and organizational excellence. 

Her leadership philosophy is rooted in integrity, accountability, and trust. She believes true transformation in healthcare happens when people feel supported and valued. She is committed to fostering a culture where excellence is expected, safety is foundational, and empowered teams deliver care grounded in purpose and compassion. 

Outside of work, Angela treasures time with her husband, their three daughters, and their two mini-golden doodles. Most weekends, you’ll find them at the lake—her favorite place to recharge, reflect, and stay grounded in the joy and purpose behind her work.
