Deputy Director Veterans Services

Francisco Maldonado is the Deputy Director of Veteran Services for the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs, where he leads initiatives to connect veterans and their families with the benefits, programs, and support they have earned. An Army Veteran with more than 15 years of leadership experience, Francisco brings a strong background in military intelligence, counterintelligence, youth mentorship, and veteran advocacy to his role.

Prior to his current position, Francisco served as a Veteran Service Officer with ODVA, providing direct support to veterans navigating the VA claims process. He also built a career in the Department of Defense as an intelligence analyst, where he supported national security operations through research, threat assessments, and mission planning.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Francisco is passionate about service and committed to empowering others. Outside of his professional life, he is an avid fisherman who enjoys spending time with his wife Yarelis and their three children, Angel, Yadiel and Alanis.
