GOVERNOR STITT SIGNS 2 BILLS INTO LAW

OKLAHOMA CITY (February 26, 2026) - Yesterday, Governor Kevin Stitt signed the following bills into law:

SIGNED - HB 1085

An Act relating to contracts; amending 15 O.S. 2021, Section 141.14, as amended by Section 8, Chapter 225, O.S.L. 2024 (15 O.S. Supp. 2025, Section 141.14), which relates to the Service Warranty Act; modifying administrative fee amount; and providing an effective date.

SIGNED - HB 1484

An Act relating to schools; creating Rain's Law; requiring certain instruction on fentanyl abuse prevention and drug poisoning awareness; prescribing frequency of and grades for instruction; listing information to be included in fentanyl abuse instruction; authorizing organizations and persons to provide instruction; directing the State Board of Education to adopt certain curriculum standards; requiring the Department to provide certain resources to schools; requiring fentanyl awareness curriculum in certain units of instruction; directing Governor to designate Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness Week in schools; requiring correlation with National Red Ribbon Week; providing for certain instruction during designated week; providing for noncodification; providing for codification; providing an effective date; and declaring an emergency.
