OKLAHOMA CITY (March 19, 2026) – Governor Kevin Stitt issued the following statement after U.S. Senator Markwayne Mullin's confirmation hearing to become Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The committee of jurisdiction voted today to advance his nomination to the U.S. Senate for a vote.
"Markwayne Mullin cast a strong vision for his future leadership at DHS," said Governor Stitt. "He made it clear the unique role of states and the great value of a collaborative partnership with the federal government. Whether responding to emergencies or supporting border security, I have confidence that states will have a vital seat at the table with Mullin in President Trump's cabinet."
