Governor Stitt Announces Adria Berry as Secretary of Licensing and Regulation
OKLAHOMA CITY (January 21, 2026) - Governor Kevin Stitt today announced his appointment of Adria Berry to his Cabinet as Secretary of Licensing and Regulation, a role that oversees more than 80 state agencies with the goal of maximizing efficiency and delivering value for taxpayers.
“Adria Berry brings unmatched expertise in regulation from her time at the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA), where she cracked down on bad actors and built fair frameworks that support businesses and taxpayers,” said Governor Stitt. “Her leadership will optimize government operations, unleash economic potential, and drive us toward our Top 10 goals with real progress for Oklahomans.”
Since 2021, Berry has served as Executive Director of OMMA, where she has delivered consistent, equitable oversight of the medical cannabis industry through rigorous enforcement and a robust licensing framework.
"Having spent nearly two decades in industries requiring specialized licensing and regulation, it is an honor to further partner with the Governor and his cabinet to continue working to ensure the government is not a roadblock for citizens who seek employment in regulated industries or for business owners in Oklahoma,” said Berry. “I have worked with many of the agencies, boards, and commissions in this cabinet and am looking forward to continuing that work as we develop solutions to ease burdens for citizens and businesses across Oklahoma."
A licensed attorney, Berry previously advised the Governor’s executive office as Counselor to the Secretary of State and led government affairs for the Petroleum Alliance and State Chamber of Oklahoma, championing reforms in workers’ comp and cannabis. She currently serves as Board President of the national Cannabis Regulators Association (CANNRA).
