Governor Kevin Stitt Remarks on Politicization of ClassWallet Lawsuit

Friday, December 12, 2025

OKLAHOMA CITY (December 12, 2025) - Governor Kevin Stitt released the following statement after Attorney General Gentner Drummond’s decision to finally remove himself from the ClassWallet lawsuit.

“The Attorney General’s involvement in ClassWallet never had any merit,” said Governor Stitt. “He inserted himself in the lawsuit to advocate for his political donors while claiming to advocate on behalf of taxpayers. His motion to withdraw is the first good faith attempt he’s made to act on behalf of Oklahoma taxpayers.”

In 2022, Governor Stitt’s administration filed a lawsuit against ClassWallet, an education funds management firm, alleging the irresponsible disbursement in Oklahoma from the COVID-era Governor's Emergency Education Relief Fund (GEER). Attorney General Drummond, in order to appease the plaintiff attorneys that funded his campaign for attorney general, intervened in the lawsuit. He then expended needless taxpayer resources to use the case as a political soundbite as he laid the foundation for his run for governor.

Governor Stitt, as he has since the filing of this lawsuit, will continue to hold vendors accountable and advocate for all four million Oklahomans.
