Today, Governor Kevin Stitt announced Dr. Corey Finch as the newest addition to his cabinet, filling the role of Secretary of Health and Mental Health.
“To be a Top Ten state, we need to have a Top Ten health care system,” said Gov. Stitt. “Dr. Finch will bring his experience as a physician and member of the Health Care Authority Board to my cabinet to improve health care outcomes for all four million Oklahomans.”
“This position touches some of Oklahoma’s most vulnerable populations, and the importance of health and mental health in Oklahoma cannot be overstated.” Dr. Finch said. “I am eager to take on this role and continue to revitalize our healthcare systems while supporting Oklahoma’s trajectory toward being a happier, healthier state.”
As the Secretary of Health and Mental Health, Dr. Finch will work to ensure that Oklahoma’s health agencies are working to make sure Oklahomans have access to the care and attention they need. His extensive involvement with Oklahoma-based facilities provides a unique outlook on the condition and needs of the Oklahoma healthcare system as a whole. Dr. Finch currently serves as the chief medical officer at Long Term Care Specialists.
He is a family physician with experience in several areas of medicine including but not limited to primary care, emergency medicine and hospital inpatient care.
Finch graduated from Howard University College of Medicine, completed his internship at Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center General Surgery Program, and his residency at Eglin Family Medicine Residency.
