Governor Kevin Stitt Blasts President Biden for Celebrating Rising Inflation, Calls for Tax Cuts in Oklahoma

Tuesday, September 13, 2022

Governor Kevin Stitt released the following statement hitting President Biden for celebrating rising inflation while Oklahoma families struggle under the administration’s failed economic policies and renewed his call for state tax cuts:

“While Oklahoma families struggle under rising inflation, President Biden and the Democrats in Washington, D.C. are patting themselves on the back for spending money they don’t have and doubling down on their failed economic policies. Inflation is an invisible tax and it hurts lower and middle income families hardest. We cannot continue to delay in stepping up to offer relief for Oklahoma families. We need conservative policies to alleviate the pressures of rising prices including an income tax reduction. With food prices spiking 11.4%, the largest one year increase since 1979, now is the time to eliminate Oklahoma’s state grocery tax. I will continue to fight for these common sense measures for as long as it takes until Oklahomans get the inflation relief they desperately need.”
