Governor Stitt Applauds Legislature for Ensuring Oklahoma is Open for Business with Passage of LEAD Act
Governor Kevin Stitt and Secretary of Commerce and Workforce Development Scott Mueller today released the following statements regarding legislative passage of HB4455, known as the Large-scale Economic Activity Development (LEAD) Act:
“I applaud my colleagues in the Legislature who voted overwhelmingly to pass the LEAD Act with bipartisan support and ensure Oklahoma is positioned to be globally competitive and secure the biggest economic development project in our state’s history. We negotiated a strong, competitive package with safeguards in place to protect taxpayers and ensure a return on this critical investment to diversify and grow Oklahoma’s economy, and I would like to thank Secretary of Commerce Scott Mueller, Speaker McCall, Pro Tem Treat, Speaker Pro Tem Hilbert, Chairman Thompson, and all our partners who worked so hard to get this done.” – Gov. Kevin Stitt
“The LEAD Act creates a valuable economic development tool that will have a transformational impact on Oklahoma’s future. The type of companies that qualify for the LEAD Act will have robust supply chain partnerships that will provide additional opportunities for economic growth in all of Oklahoma’s 77 counties and I applaud Governor Stitt, Pro Tem Treat, Speaker McCall, and the authors and presenters of this bill for the leadership they have shown in passing this legislation.” – Secretary of Commerce and Workforce Development Scott Mueller
Gov. Stitt is expected to formally sign HB4455 into law on Monday.
