GOVERNOR STITT APPOINTS OKMULGEE COUNTY DISTRICT JUDGE

OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 17, 2020)— Governor Kevin Stitt announced today the appointment of Pandee Ramirez as a District Judge for Okmulgee County.    

“Judge Ramirez is a proven legal professional with experience in both criminal and civil matters who has faithfully served the people of Okmulgee County for over 20 years," said Gov. Stitt. “I look forward to seeing her expertise and hard work on display as the newest district judge in Oklahoma.”

“I am thankful to Governor Stitt for this opportunity to serve as District Judge for Okmulgee, Creek and Okfuskee counties,” said Judge Ramirez. “I will continue to work diligently to meet the challenges this new position holds. I also give thanks to my family and friends who continue to support me and my endeavors.” 

Judge Ramirez has served as a Special District Judge for Okmulgee County since 2015. Prior to this, Ramirez appeared in court almost daily for 15 years as both a criminal defense attorney and prosecutor. While working for the Oklahoma Indigent Defense System, Ramirez represented clients charged in felony, misdemeanor and juvenile delinquent cases, from initial appearance through jury trial, in Okmulgee, Creek and Okfuskee counties. Ramirez subsequently joined the District Attorney's Office for Okmulgee and McIntosh Counties, where she served as the only ADA for the Henryetta Division and as Managing Attorney for the Child Support Enforcement Office.  

Ramirez holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma (1995) and a Juris Doctor from University of Tulsa College of Law (1998). She resides in Okmulgee with her husband Javier and three children, Esai, Braden and Rowan. An active member of her community, Ramirez serves on the Board of Regents for the College of the Muscogee Nation and is a certified Cub Scout leader with the Indian Nations Council Sac & Fox District. 

Okmulgee County is in the 24th Judicial District, which includes Creek, Okfuskee and Okmulgee counties.
