Gather25 and Prison Fellowship Unite to Bring Global Christian Event to Joseph Harp Correctional Center
LEXINGTON, Okla. – Gather25 and Prison Fellowship united to host a transformative event at Joseph Harp Correctional Center on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1, 2025. This initiative was part of Gather25's 25-hour global broadcast, aimed at uniting the global church across every continent for a day of prayer and worship.
The event featured live-streamed sessions from seven core locations worldwide, including the United States, and showcased inspiring stories from the global church. Participants from diverse backgrounds and denominations joined together, emphasizing the unity and diversity of the Christian faith.
Prison Fellowship, the nation's largest Christian nonprofit serving prisoners, former prisoners, and their families, has a longstanding relationship with the Joseph Harp Correctional Center. Through various programs, they have consistently brought hope and transformation to incarcerated individuals. This partnership with Gather25 provided a unique opportunity to extend the event’s reach to those within prison walls, ensuring that the message of hope and unity resonated even in the most challenging environments.
The event at Joseph Harp Correctional Center included a live stream of the global broadcast, allowing inmates to participate simultaneously with millions of believers worldwide. Special sessions were tailored to address the unique experiences of the incarcerated, fostering a sense of inclusion and community.
“Two prisons in the United States participated in this event. Joseph Harp Correctional Center was chosen through the effort and determination of the men incarcerated here,” said JHCC Warden David Rogers. “These men continue to amaze me, and I salute them for their unwavering commitment and dedication.
This collaboration exemplified the commitment of both organizations to break down barriers and create spaces where all could encounter the message of Jesus. Bringing Gather25 into correctional facilities through the assistance of Prison Fellowship ignites change, redemption and a renewed sense of purpose among participants, becoming a catalyst for transformation.
