OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma Department of Corrections Executive Director Steven Harpe released the following statement in response to claims Representative Justin Humphrey made in a recent Oklahoma Watch article.
"There is little fact or insight behind what Rep. Justin Humphrey commented about our infrastructure improvements. I believe he is referencing the bond we received in 2018, totaling $116.5 million. With this, we have completed more than 125 projects and have less than 20 in process.
These projects include servicing and installing cooling systems, which are at all facilities except three. I recently authorized the engineering of the power upgrades to support cooling systems for these facilities. The completion of this project will supply cooling coverage at every facility."
