ODOC: 25 correctional officers graduate

Friday, March 02, 2018

MCALESTER, Okla. -- The Oklahoma Department of Corrections graduated 25 correctional security officers on Thursday at King's House.

"We are proud to have these new officers join our team," said ODOC Director Joe M. Allbaugh. "They are joining a select, highly trained group of 420,000 nationwide behind the wire."

Part of more than 1,800 correctional security officers at ODOC, these graduates will help the agency replenish a force that turned over by 25 percent in Fiscal Year 2017.

Thursday's graduation is the agency's third of 2018.

ODOC has two cadet training academies, the Wilson Training Academy and Satellite Training Academy.
