#MakingADifference - Ellen Stackable

Wednesday, August 01, 2018

MakingADifference - Ellen Stackable has spent 20 years in the classroom teaching English and writing to grade school students. In the past few years, she wanted to expand her reach to students behind bars. She, and up to 30 other volunteers, now spend time inside women’s prisons across Oklahoma teaching inmates how to express themselves through writing. This skill provides the inmates a path to work through problems that helped send them to prison. Kudos to Ellen for volunteering her time teaching women coping skills through expressive writing. See Ellen at work.
