Lexington Correctional Center Staff participate in Land Run Parade

Monday, May 07, 2018

Officer Allison Flemming and Officer Conner Enblom

On Saturday, April 28, the Lexington Correctional Center took part in Lexington's annual festival honoring Oklahoma's Land Run of 1889.

Employees set up a display providing information on career opportunities at the facility. Correctional officers interacted with the public, hoping to educate and hopefully recruit new staff members.

The display was comprised of a Central Transportation Unit bus that was open for public viewing.

Also on display was the new receiving prisoner transport car and equipment such as restraints, riot gear, cell entry gear, and personal protection devices.

People from the surrounding communities were able to ask what it's like to work in a state prison. Many were inquisitive into the day to-day operations of a correctional officer.

More photos from the day are available below.
