Farm Talk last November recently featured Oklahoma Department of Corrections' famous beef program. 

Journalist Raney Rapp visited Howard McLeod Correctional Center near Atoka to get a ground-level view of the agency's cattle operations, which systemwide total to approximately 2,000 head of commercial beef cattle. 

Raney writes: "Raising consistent cattle statewide with an inmate labor force comes with unique challenges and opportunities, but Agri-Services director Brad Bailey said it’s beyond rewarding."
