HVAC MALFUNCTIONS AT LEXINGTON ASSESSMENT & RECEPTION CENTER

Wednesday, July 18, 2018

OKLAHOMA CITY – A chiller unit at Lexington Assessment & Reception Center malfunctioned Tuesday morning, causing an air conditioning outage in several facility locations.

Affected areas include administration, medical, visiting, mailroom and housing units 3-5. The outage began around 8 a.m.

LARC staff are using fans to help circulate air in the affected areas and help keep inmates cool.

The outage is expected to continue overnight Tuesday and through much of Wednesday. A replacement part, which is on warranty, has been overnighted, and will arrive Wednesday.

Repairs will begin immediately after the part’s arrival.

Located in Lexington, LARC, a 1,450-inmate capacity facility, is the intake center for every male inmate entering ODOC custody.
