41 cadets graduate Thursday at Healdton Assembly of God; eighth graduation of 2018

41 graduating cadets at Healdton take correctional officer oath.

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Department of Corrections welcomed 41 cadets to its correctional officer family during a graduation Thursday at Healdton Assembly of God in Healdton. 

The agency's eighth graduating class of 2018 will join a workforce with ample opportunities for advancement, as well as competitive benefits and retirement. 

ODOC employs more than 1,800 correctional security officers. These graduates will help the agency replenish a force that turned over by 25 percent in Fiscal Year 2017. 

The agency has two cadet training academies, the Wilson Training Academy and Satellite Training Academy. 

It is currently hiring staff at all levels at multiple facilities throughout the state. Go to the state's jobs website for a complete listing.
