Friday, June 08, 2018

MCALESTER, Okla. – Twelve cadets graduated from the Oklahoma Department of Corrections cadet training academy.

Thursday’s graduation, held at Lakewood Christian Church, was the agency’s seventh of 2018.

ODOC employs more than 1,800 correctional security officers. These graduates will help the agency replenish a force that turned over by 25 percent in Fiscal Year 2017.

The agency has two cadet training academies, the Wilson Training Academy and Satellite Training Academy.

The agency is currently hiring staff at all levels at multiple facilities throughout the state.
