Staff Highlights

The Journal Record honored 28 Health Care Hero award winners on March 23, 2023, at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.  One of those winners was our very own Melanie D. Duke, RN, BSN, and Director of Nursing at the Clinton Veterans Home!  Melanie has been at the Clinton Veterans Home for almost 25 years!

ODVA is proud to announce that more than just one of our amazing staff members was recognized for their dedication during the event!  Our very own Kris Martinez, Director of Environmental Services at the Claremore Veterans Home was honored for the incredible service she has provided to our Residents at our Claremore Home for the past 17 years. Kris has been at the Claremore Veterans Home since 2006, and began her career with Claremore as a Level I Specialist.  "Making the veterans happy...that's why we're here," she explained to The Journal Record.  "We can give them the best that we have to offer."

The recognition program, now in its fourth year, honors individuals who go above and beyond to help make Oklahoma a healthier, safer, and happier place to live and work.  Honorees were featured in a commemorative magazine inserted in The Journal Record’s March 24 issue.  Please click here to visit the publication in full.

We are honored and blessed to have been witness to their incredible compassion, care, and dedication to our Residents, and we congratulate Melanie & Kris, as well as the Clinton & Claremore Veterans Homes, for this well-deserved honor.
