The Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) Board of Directors awarded more than $300,000 to school districts across Oklahoma through the updated TSET Healthy Incentive Grants during its regular board meeting on Thursday, Nov. 20.
The TSET Healthy Incentive Grant for Schools is given to districts that adopt policies for tobacco-free places, healthy food, more time for movement and employee wellness. These steps help everyone in the school build healthy habits.
“When kids learn healthy habits early, it can help them for the rest of their lives,” said Julie Bisbee, executive director of TSET. “The TSET Healthy Incentive Grant for Schools gives districts tools that make healthy choices easier. That is a key part of our mission to help Oklahomans live well.”
Funded projects include shade structures and new ADA equipment for playgrounds. These changes help more students play and stay active in a safe space.

In July, TSET updated its Healthy Incentive Grants to simplify the application, raise grant amounts and expand eligibility. The grants include two types: one for schools and one for communities. Communities can apply March 2 – 30, 2026.
The next application period for school districts will be Jan. 9 through Feb. 6, 2026. Individual school sites will be able to apply starting in FY27. For details on who can apply and how, visit OK.gov/TSET/HIG.
