Self-Insurance Guaranty Fund Board

The Self Insurance Guaranty Fund Board (SIGFB) oversees long-term workers' compensation payments out of the Self Insurance Guaranty Fund to individuals who were injured on the job while employed and approved for worker compensation benefits by qualified self-insured employers but the self-insured companies have subsequently filed bankruptcy and have no assets and resources to pay claims. The agency is industry-funded through tax assessments administered by the OK Tax Commission when the fund balance falls below $750,000. This agency has no assets or employees. SIGFB utilizes the services of a third-party administrative company to administer payments of long-term benefits, medical, legal and miscellaneous expenses to claimants and perform actuarial services.
