Liquefied Petroleum Gas Board
The Liquefied Petroleum Gas Administration regulates the use of hydrocarbons, or mixtures of the same; propane; propylene; normal butane and isobutane; and butylene. Founded in 1953, this agency now encompasses the following activities:
- Enforcement: Ensuring safety compliance by assessing administrative penalties in storage, distribution, transporting, dispensing and utilization of liquefied petroleum gas within the state.
- Investigations: Investigating propane related accidents, fires and explosions.
- Rules and Regulations: Adopting and enforcing the national safety codes of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 58 and 54) and Oklahoma rules.
