Oklahoma State Department of Health

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) was established per 63 O.S. § 63-1-105 and serves as the state public health agency. OSDH, through its system of local health services delivery, is ultimately responsible for protecting, promoting and improving public health with strategies that focus on preventing disease and injury. Founded in 1907, OSDH oversees a network of 68 county health department locations distributed among 10 public health districts. OSDH collaborates with the two metro public health entities, Oklahoma City-County Health Department and Tulsa Health Department, which are autonomous offices managed outside of state government.
