Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (ODEMHS) is statutorily required to prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate against any natural or manmade disaster which can affect the State of Oklahoma. The agency maintains and exercises the State Emergency Operations Plan and coordinates disaster response from state agencies. Founded in 1951, the agency now includes the Office of Homeland Security and the state 9-1-1 program. The office serves to develop and implement a comprehensive statewide homeland security strategy and response system and implements national homeland security plans.
