Founded in 1987, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce serves as the primary economic development entity in the state. The agency's mission is to help create an environment where economic growth can occur. This mission is accomplished by bringing jobs, investment, and economic prosperity to the State of Oklahoma. Through dynamic partnerships and innovative collaborations with companies, communities, universities, not-for-profit organizations, and government leaders, the Department of Commerce is building a business environment that supports economic growth and shared community prosperity. The Oklahoma Department of Commerce also oversees various community development grants, business incentives, and industry specific target initiatives such as Aerospace Commerce Economic Services (ACES).
