Business Summit to focus on benefits of hiring workers with disabilities

Oklahoma City – “Disability at Work: Thrive Forum 2024" is the theme for a Business Summit from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 28 at Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive in Oklahoma City.

The event will be hosted by Oklahoma Inclusive Postsecondary Education Alliance, Oklahoma Rehabilitation Services' Business Services Program and the Autism Foundation of Oklahoma.

Michael Bowling, the Business Summit’s keynote speaker, is a Crowe & Dunlevy director with nearly two decades of legal and executive experience in human resources best practices and employment matters.

"Our annual Business Summit highlights the substantial benefits and return on investment tied to employment of jobseekers with disabilities," said Yasmin Avila Guillen, business services coordinator for Oklahoma Rehabilitation Services' Business Services Program.

"We will also showcase collaborative initiatives of workforce partners who contribute to a more inclusive and thriving business landscape," Guillen said.

DRS is the employment agency for Oklahomans with disabilities. In 2023, the agency served more than 96,178 people through 25 employment, education, independent living training programs and the determination of medical eligibility for Social Security benefits.
