OKC resident earns Rehabilitation Services Commission award

OKLAHOMA CITY  — Renee Sansom Briscoe, from Oklahoma City, earned the annual performance award presented by the Oklahoma Commission for Rehabilitation Services on December 13.

Briscoe Is transition coordinator for Transition Services, a statewide career training and employment program serving 3,500 Oklahoma youth with disabilities.

"Renee deserves recognition for not only being an excellent Transition coordinator for DRS, but also for her ability to create autonomy within DRS," said Stacey Dutton, programs field representatives, who nominated Briscoe.

"She allows employees space and opportunity to thrive, and she sets clear goals with motivation for success," Dutton said.

DRS Transition services are available through career counselors at Vocational Rehabilitation and Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

VR and SBVI are divisions of Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services, which Is governed by the Commission.
