Norman Veterans Home
Nestled at the end of a private drive, The Norman Veterans Home is home to an average 301 of Oklahoma’s finest Veterans. The facility consists of 239,000 sq. feet, complete with a special needs unit accommodating up to 50 Alzheimer’s & dementia residents, and serves both male and female Oklahoma Veterans.
Completed in November of 1996, the Norman Veterans Home was designed to create a cheery, comfortable atmosphere for both residents & their families alike. Hardwood & granite floors, finely detailed wood trim, floor to ceiling columns, combined with plenty of light from several skylights are just some of the home like touches featured here.
Three two story resident wings originate from a central area encompassing a physical therapy room, recreation area with pool tables, paperback & video library, atrium, barber shop and a canteen. The residents can also enjoy a full service dining room with a balcony and terrace, as well as individual dining areas located on each of the resident wings. A gallery showcasing the works of local artists, as well as past and current residents lines the halls, and the Activities room houses an art nook that caters to the artistic side of any interested Veteran resident. This spacious facility also features additional exterior pavilions along the walking trails, a fishing dock, scattered ponds and natural hill side with plenty of greenery.
Our team of fully licensed medical staff is on hand daily to assist one of the largest populations of certified patient care aides, certified medication aides, licensed practical nurses, and registered nurses within the organization- their sole purpose to provide dedicated quality care to Americas’ Heroes.
