OKLAHOMA CITY — The Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services has relocated the Hispanic Community Outreach office from Shepherd Center at 2401 NW 23rd to 5813 S. Robinson Avenue in south Oklahoma City.
The main number is 405-522-7976.
The focus of this office is to provide Vocational Rehabilitation and Transition services for youth to all Spanish speakers with disabilities in the Hispanic community. Staff translate and facilitate job training, education and employment services to Hispanic job seekers.
“We made the decision to relocate to the south Oklahoma City to be closer to the zip code that has the largest population of Spanish speakers,” Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist Ileana Bauman said. “We will also be near schools with large populations of Spanish speaking students and parents who are eligible for our employment programs for people with disabilities.”
The Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services annually assists more than 184,082 Oklahomans through vocational rehabilitation, employment, independent living, residential and outreach educational programs and the determination of medical eligibility for disability benefits.
