OKLAHOMA CITY — Lieutenant Governor Matt Pinnell today expressed his gratitude to the Oklahoma legislature for investing in the Department of Career and Technology Education in the fiscal year 2025 budget. Because of the funding increase, Oklahoma CareerTech will expand the number of career training programs across the state and eliminate a waiting list of about 7,500 students within three years.
“To retain and recruit business to the state, we must prioritize workforce development,” said Lt. Governor Pinnell. “By investing in our world-class CareerTech system, we’re putting 7,500 more Oklahomans in classrooms, training them with the skills they need to fill open positions. I applaud the Oklahoma legislature for empowering our future workforce.”
Lt. Governor Pinnell focuses his agenda on workforce and economic development issues and works closely with Oklahoma CareerTech to strengthen the state’s workforce development pipeline.
