(Oklahoma City, OK) – Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell today announced his participation in the upcoming Land Run 100 bike race, which kicks off March 16th from downtown Stillwater. The Lt. Governor will compete in the Land Run 50, a fifty mile version of the Land Run 100 gravel grinder race. The Land Run 100 is one of the fastest growing gravel races in the country.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to be participating in my first Land Run race next weekend,” said Lt. Governor Pinnell. “Events like this are part of what makes Oklahoma great. I look forward to participating in this nationally recognized race.”

“Bicycle tourism is now an $83 billion industry in the United States,” continued Pinnell. “I commend District Bicycles and the Stillwater community for taking the initiative to create this rapidly growing race. I’ve often said that tourism is the front door to economic development, and the Land Run race is undoubtedly having a huge impact on both the economy and quality of life in Stillwater and the surrounding area.”

Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell also serves as Secretary of Tourism and Branding. In that role, Pinnell will participate in several races, festivals, and events throughout the year to highlight Oklahoma’s unique attractions and destinations.
