Lawsuit Withdrawn from State of Oklahoma and State Treasurer’s Office

OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 21, 2023) – Yesterday, Dec. 20, attorney Collin Walke at Hall Estill, withdrew the lawsuit against the State of Oklahoma and the office of the State Treasurer, Todd Russ. The lawsuit originally filed Nov. 20, alleging a violation of the Constitution by enforcing House Bill 2034, was withdrawn exactly one month later. The lawsuit was trying to place an injunction on the Energy Discrimination Elimination Act of 2022, which in intended to protect the oil and gas industry in Oklahoma.

The office of the Oklahoma State Treasurer intends to file a counter claim for attorney fees and legal expenses against the plaintiff as allowed by law.
